Borough Court offers two large double bedrooms on a B&B basis. They are situated in the centre of the house and accessed via the main staircase from the hallway.
The Attic Suite is charming, comprising a super-king size french antique bed (this was a rare find as antique beds were not normally made in this size) with Egyptian cotton sheets and an ensuite bathroom. The fantastic curved beams in the bedroom have been sympathetically restored as they originally came from the hull of a large ship. The bathroom is in the eaves of the house containing a bath, shower, basin and loo and overlooks the garden and small lake. Much of the original panelling is still in place albeit it was painstakingly removed during the refurbishment process in order to insulate the roof.
The Chinese Room was historically the master bedroom of the house and has fabulous high ceilings and a large bay window. Decorated with archived Chinese toile wallpaper it contains a super-king bed with Egyptian cotton sheets, its own roll top bath on a raised step within the bedroom and two basins. The fireplace in this room dates back to around 1561 and you can just make out the letters JF/AF etched into it which were the initials of John Fielder and his wife Alice Fielder who owned the house at that time.
Breakfast
Breakfast is between 7.30-10.00am and is served in the dining room. We offer both a continental breakfast with homemade preserves, honey and freshly baked bread each day; but we also offer our renowned BC cooked breakfast too – sausages and bacon from home reared pigs, our own free range eggs and hand grown tomatoes. All other items are sourced as locally as possible. It would be helpful to know the night before hand whether cooked or continental breakfast is required.
